Good to know about Twelve Oaks Canada
Engineered hardwood
Twelve Oaks lists engineered hardwood as one of its main categories, alongside its Gemtec Masterpiece and Gemtec Creation families. Twelve Oaks says its engineered products are CARB Phase II and EPA 40 C.F.R. 770 compliant, and that its woods are sustainably sourced.
Luxury vinyl
Twelve Oaks' luxury vinyl includes Foundation 3030 and SureWood. Its featured SureWood Elevate collection has what Twelve Oaks calls an enhanced core, a 30 mil heavy commercial-grade wear layer and 100% waterproof construction. Twelve Oaks says its vinyl is made from virgin material that is fully recyclable.
Laminate
Laminate is the third main category in the Twelve Oaks range, with accessories to finish the job.
Why Twelve Oaks flooring Edmonton homeowners ask about
Twelve Oaks says all of its products are FloorScore certified, and its own FAQ states that they contain zero formaldehyde. That matters to families who want to know what is going into a bedroom or a nursery. The range also covers several installation methods, which Twelve Oaks lists as nail down, glue down, floating and click, so there is usually a way to suit the subfloor you already have.
Choosing between hardwood, vinyl and laminate
Engineered hardwood gives you real wood on top and suits main floors and bedrooms. Waterproof vinyl is the practical answer for basements, kitchens, laundry rooms and entries. Laminate sits between the two on look and cost of upkeep. Our residential flooring page explains how we plan a home job from measure to final clean-up.
Edmonton conditions
Edmonton's dry winters and humid summers make wood move, and a lot of basements here are on concrete that can carry moisture. We check the subfloor and the room before we recommend a product, and let hardwood acclimatise before it goes down.
Questions to bring to the showroom
Which rooms are you doing, and is any of it below grade? Do you have pets or kids who are hard on floors? What is under the current floor? Bring a few photos and rough measurements, and we can narrow the Twelve Oaks range to a short list that fits.
