Carpet Flooring in Edmonton

Planning a carpet installation Edmonton winters will make you glad you chose? Carpet is still the warmest, quietest floor you can put in a bedroom, family room or basement, and on stairs it's hard to beat.

A hotel-style bedroom with a white bed, an upholstered headboard and pale patterned carpet.
  • Since 2006
  • 1,400+ projects
  • In-house crews

Modern fibres and better underlay mean today's carpet holds up to kids and pets far better than the carpet you're probably pulling out.

Bring your room sizes to our 178 Street showroom, feel the samples underfoot, and we'll match carpet and underlay to how each room is actually used.

Why carpet still makes sense

  • Adds insulation and warmth, which matters on an Edmonton winter morning
  • Dampens sound between floors
  • A soft, safer surface for kids
  • Works in almost any room and at a range of budgets

Room-by-room fit

  • A bedroom with pale grey carpet, a wooden bed with layered bedding and framed art above.

    Bedrooms and family rooms

Cut-pile, patterned or wool for comfort.

  • A basement games room with cream wall-to-wall carpet, a round table with upholstered chairs and a wet bar.

    Basements

With the right underlay and moisture protection, carpet makes a finished basement warm. We check the concrete first.

  • A staircase with grey carpet on the treads and white painted risers and stringers, above a wood-plank floor.

    Stairs

They take the most wear and need the most careful fitting. We install carpet on stairs, on any stair style: open riser, curved, Hollywood, open side and boxed-out stringers.

  • Dark grey tile in an entryway meeting warm wood-look plank flooring at a threshold, with a kitchen beyond.

    Kitchens, entries and bathrooms

Choose luxury vinyl plank or tile instead.

Carpet types we carry

  • Close-up of soft beige cut-pile carpet in a bedroom, with the upright fibre tips giving a smooth, velvety surface.

    Cut-pile

The everyday choice: soft, durable and simple. It's good for bedrooms, stairs and living spaces, in many colours and textures.

  • Grey patterned carpet where higher cut fibres and lower loops form a subtle geometric design in a living room.

    Patterned

Blends looped and cut fibres for subtle or bold patterns when you want the floor to add character.

  • Close-up of oatmeal Berber carpet showing its tight looped, flecked texture.

    Berber

A looped construction that stands up well in high-traffic areas. Newer Berbers are softer than older ones, though loops are less pet-friendly because claws can catch.

  • Thick cream wool carpet with a natural texture in a calm living room with a linen armchair.

    New Zealand wool

Natural, soft and surprisingly resilient: our premium option for bedrooms and living rooms.

Underlay options

The underlay matters as much as the carpet. It affects comfort, insulation and how long the carpet lasts.

  • Chip-foam

Budget-friendly; good for basic installs and flips, with mould resistance and mild moisture protection.

  • SmartCushion by Mohawk

Memory foam with AllPet moisture protection and odour control, a good fit for homes with pets and kids.

  • Healthier Choice

Premium memory foam, hypoallergenic, waterproof and antimicrobial; GREENGUARD Gold certified.

Carpet FAQs

Is carpet still a good flooring option?

Absolutely. Durable, stain-resistant carpet is an excellent choice for bedrooms, family rooms and stairs where warmth and comfort matter.

Is carpet a good choice with pets?

Yes, with the right product. Many modern carpets use stain-resistant fibres, and SmartCushion adds moisture protection and odour control underneath. Cut-pile is usually a better pet choice than loop Berber.

How do I choose between cut-pile, Berber and patterned?

Cut-pile is soft and versatile, Berber is built for durability, and patterned adds visual interest. Tell us how the room is used and we'll narrow it down.

Do you remove the old carpet?

Yes. Removal and disposal of existing flooring can be included in your project.

Can I install carpet in a basement?

Definitely. With the right underlay and moisture barrier, carpet can be a cozy and safe choice for finished basements.

What underlay should I choose?

Underlay depends on comfort, moisture protection, and budget. Our team will recommend the best fit for your project.

How long does installation take?

It depends on room size and the prep required.
