What goes into EcoDense

Most rigid waterproof floors are vinyl, which means PVC. EcoDense is different. Primco describes it as a hybrid resilient floor made without PVC, from CARB2-compliant materials, with a core that has no added formaldehyde, softeners or phthalates. You get the practical side of luxury vinyl in a floor built from different stuff.

EcoDense is one of our answers.

  • A 7 mm waterproof core

High-density, balancing strength and flexibility for dent resistance.

  • A 2 mm acoustic pad

Attached, taking the hollow edge off footsteps.

  • Big matte planks

    9.5" x 51", ultra-low gloss and embossed.

Why homeowners choose EcoDense flooring in Edmonton

  • 100% PVC-free

Over 90% sustainable or renewable materials, made in North America.

  • SpillResist

Primco says it keeps water out between planks for up to 100 hours.

  • Resists scratches and fading

And heat, which helps beside big south-facing windows.

Where we’d use EcoDense

  • Kitchens and bathrooms

Where water is a daily fact.

  • Basements

    Over a properly prepared slab.

  • Homes with kids and pets

Which Primco specifically designed it for.

  • Bright rooms

Thanks to its fade and heat resistance.

Good to know about EcoDense

What makes EcoDense flooring Edmonton-ready

Waterproof where it counts. EcoDense uses SpillResist technology, which Primco says stops water getting between the planks for up to 100 hours. Everyday spills stay on top, away from the subfloor. That's why it's rated for wet areas, including kitchens and bathrooms.

Tough and steady. The high-density core is designed to balance strength and flexibility for strong resistance to dents. Primco also says it resists scratches and fading from sunlight, and calls it a heat-resistant alternative to traditional vinyl. That's handy beside big south-facing windows.

Quieter and more comfortable. Each plank is 9 mm in total: a 7 mm waterproof core plus a 2 mm attached acoustic pad. That pad takes the hollow edge off footsteps, which makes a difference in condos and upstairs rooms.

Healthier air at home

Primco points out that people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, so what your floor is made of affects the air you breathe. EcoDense is 100% PVC-free, and Primco says it uses over 90% sustainable or renewable materials. It's made in North America from primarily U.S.-sourced materials.

If someone in your home has sensitivities, or you're simply trying to build with fewer chemicals, this is the floor we'll put in front of you first.

Size, look and colours

The planks are generous: 9.5 inches wide by 51 inches long, so a room reads calm with fewer seams. The finish is ultra-low gloss and textured with an embossed surface, a modern matte look. Primco's current swatches are Corsica, Sligo, Limestone, Knox, Fisher, Toby and Millstone.

Primco pitches EcoDense as combining current design trends and popular colour tones with a durable ultra-matte finish, so it doesn't look like a compromise made for practical reasons. It is also built to install easily, which keeps the job on schedule. For warranty coverage, see the manufacturer's warranty, which Primco publishes on its EcoDense page.

Where we'd use EcoDense
  • Kitchens and bathrooms, where water is a daily fact.

  • Basements, over a properly prepared slab.

  • Homes with kids and pets, which Primco specifically designed it for.

  • Bright rooms, thanks to its fade and heat resistance.

As with every floor we install, we inspect and prepare the subfloor first. A rigid plank only performs as well as the base underneath it.
