The Estates laminate collections

Estates is Primco's own label, and its laminate collection is designed to look like real wood without the upkeep. Primco built it around scratch resistance for active households, with plank looks that run from rustic oak to quieter maple tones. Planks join with a click-lock system, so the floor goes down as a floating floor.

Laminate is one of the floors we install most in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.

  • Parador

Six plank faces per SKU, a painted bevel and texture in register with the grain.

  • Seville

Resists stains, dents and mildew; pet-friendly and water-resistant up to 24 hours.

  • Sequoia

The hardest-wearing of the three, with an AC6 wear rating.

Good to know about Estates Laminate

What Estates laminate Edmonton buyers should know

Laminate is a layered product: a core, a printed decorative layer that reproduces the wood, and a clear wear layer over the top. It gives you a convincing wood look at a lower cost than hardwood, and it's tough against scratches and stains.

What it isn't is a waterproof floor. Primco's own guidance is that laminate suits most rooms but is not recommended for areas with high moisture, like bathrooms, because prolonged exposure can damage it. Each collection below lists how long it tolerates a surface spill, which is the number to compare. If your room is wet, we'll steer you to luxury vinyl instead.

The Estates laminate collections we carry

Parador.

Parador is the design-forward collection. Primco highlights six different plank faces per SKU, so the pattern repeats less, plus a painted bevel and a texture embossed in register with the grain, which makes it feel like the wood it looks like. The core is a cellulose, resin and ceresin wax blend. Primco lists it as CARB 2 compliant and TSCA Title VI compliant, two standards for formaldehyde emissions. Spills should be cleaned up within 72 hours.

Seville.

Seville is aimed squarely at busy homes. Primco describes it as resistant to stains, dents and mildew, and calls it pet-friendly and water-resistant. Planks have waxed edges and a painted V-groove, over a high-density fiberboard core. Its topical water resistance is stated at up to 24 hours, so wipe spills promptly.

Sequoia.

Sequoia is the hardest-wearing of the three, with an AC6 wear rating. Like Seville, it resists stains, dents and mildew and is described as pet-friendly and water-resistant. It has a four-sided painted micro bevel, a high-density fiberboard core, CARB 2 compliance, and installs with an angle-and-tap (Unilin) locking system.

Where Estates laminate works well
  • Living rooms and family rooms, where it takes everyday traffic.

  • Bedrooms and hallways, for a clean wood look throughout.

  • Homes with pets, especially Seville and Sequoia.

  • Main floors above grade, where moisture is not a concern.

We check every subfloor before install. Laminate floats, but it still needs a flat, sound base to feel solid and keep the joints tight. Primco notes it can go over most existing subfloors, including concrete, wood or tile.

Trims and finishing

Primco makes matching mouldings, from T-mouldings to stair nosings, so transitions and stairs can match your floor. We'll include the right pieces in your quote.
