Good to know about TORLYS

Why TORLYS flooring Edmonton homeowners ask us about

People usually come to TORLYS for one of three reasons. They want a floor that looks like real wood or stone but is easier to live with. They like the idea of a floor where one damaged plank can be swapped out instead of redoing the room. Or they want a Canadian brand with a wide spread of materials under one name, so a basement, a main floor and a bedroom can all be planned together.

TORLYS also sells a plank replacement tool, the Bulldog Easy Plank Replacer, designed to take out and replace a single damaged Smart Floor plank anywhere in a room. If repairability matters to you, ask us how that works on the floor you're considering.

Marquee Floors by TORLYS

Marquee Floors is TORLYS's value line, in vinyl and laminate. It is aimed at busy spaces, including family homes, rental units and some commercial settings, with wood-look designs in current colours. If you're flooring a rental or a whole level on a tighter budget, it's worth a look next to the Smart Floors range.

Choosing between them

There's no single best TORLYS floor. The right one depends on the room, how much water it sees, how much traffic it takes and what look you're after. A basement and a primary bedroom usually want different things. Our residential flooring page walks through how we think about it room by room.

For Edmonton homes, two questions come up often. Basements need a floor that copes with concrete and temperature changes, so we check the slab and subfloor first. And our dry winter air can be hard on real wood, so if you're leaning toward hardwood or cork, ask us what to expect through the heating season.
