The CorkXP collections

Cork is one of the less common floors we install, and that's a shame, because people who choose it tend to love it. TORLYS sells its cork line as Smart CorkXP. The company describes it as warm and durable, with a cushioned feel that's easy on your feet through a long day, and it points to sustainable harvesting of the cork itself.

The TORLYS cork flooring Edmonton collections

The CorkXP range comes in three collections:

Cork XP Designer
Cork XP Elite
Cork Vista

Cork has natural character, and the patterns vary between collections and colours. It's a floor you really need to stand on and touch before you pick it, which is why we keep samples on the showroom floor.

Cork in an Edmonton home

Cork is a natural material, so our dry winter air is worth a conversation, just as it is with hardwood. Ask us what to expect through the heating season. For basements, we check the slab and subfloor first and give you a straight answer on whether cork is a good fit for that space.

Finishing the floor

TORLYS makes matching accessories for this line, including Smart-T Plus moulding, SmartNosing, Solo Plus 5-in-1 moulding, and SmartTread stair treads made from a floor plank, as a kit or with right and left returns. The Bulldog Easy Plank Replacer is designed to swap out a single damaged plank.

Underlay options from TORLYS include Acoustik, a sound-rated underlay with antimicrobial protection, 3-in-1 Foam with a moisture barrier, Safe and Sound 5-in-1, and Cork Natural. We'll recommend the one that suits your subfloor.

Planning your cork project

Because cork is unusual, it is worth seeing in person before you decide. Visit the showroom to compare samples, colours and textures, and talk it through with our team. Before installation we look at the concrete and subfloor, work out what needs to be removed, and say whether any extra preparation or repair is required, because a properly prepared subfloor matters for a long-lasting floor. If stairs are part of the plan, tell us early so the treads and nosings are part of the discussion. Then ask us for a quote and tell us the rooms and roughly how much floor you have.
