TORLYS also says each plank is designed to be wider, longer and cleaner than the industry norm for engineered hardwood planks. Wide, long boards are a big part of why a wood floor looks calm and high-end in an open room, with fewer seams catching the eye. Each one has its own species, colours and textures. Wood is a natural material, so colour and grain vary from board to board. That's part of the appeal, and it's the main reason we recommend seeing a full sample rather than choosing from a screen.

Our dry winter air is the thing to plan for with any real wood floor. Indoor air in a heated home can get very dry, and wood responds to changes in humidity. We'll talk you through what to expect through the heating season and what you can do about it, so ask us before you decide which room it goes in.
